Open to new or existing club members, our social hurling group is for retired hurlers, hurling or camogie coaches and anyone else that wants to give it a try or re-engage – it’s a motley crew that have joined the hurling fun.
Of the 40 members registered, we usually see 15-20 ready for action on the Barracks pitch in Rathmines on Friday evenings. The organisers give assurances that contact is minimised, albeit within the context that it is hurling after all!
Our ambition is for this group to evolve into a competitive junior hurling team in 2022 and we are actively looking for more team members. In addition to the benefits for the current group of players, this new junior team will provide a team for our underage hurlers to aspire to once they grow beyond juvenile level.
